    Where B the rest-O-my Beam?

    Can't figure this one out...but I'm betting there's a Revit guru, master, or prophet on here that knows the answer....

    I'm placing framing beams. ONE beam slopes off grid (in plan) and DOWN as it goes toward the interior of the building (following the roof slope)

    I can see the entire beam in plan in Coarse View. When I switch to Medium View or Fine View - half the beam disappears.
    Viewing in 3d - half the beam is gone.
    I've checked my View Depth in plan....it's set plenty deep (much more depth than the beam slopes down)
    I'm lost....need a map.

    Either set your Floors/Roofs to transparent or set your view to wireframe. Wifeframe will screw with some filled regions.

    After looking at the pictures my above statment dosen't apply.

      I was going to suggest to check your view range, more specifically, the top range. but looking at your 3d view, I'm wondering if there's not a shaft or some sort of opening cut that has been applied to the beam somewhere?

        is it an OOTB family? do you mind post it here? maybe there's a problem inside....

          Try isolating just your structural components in a 3D view and see if it shows up then.

            It did show up when isolated. So why doens't it show up otherwise?

              It is OOTB....and I'm using the same beam elsewhere and it shows up fine...it's got to be something to do with the beam being "double sloped"

                  Something has to be obscuring it. Do a crossing window in that area and check your filter. Maybe that will show something.

                  Do me a favor, delete those four walls that the beam is going to and see if it shows up then. Just a hunch.

                    Try this:
                    Is your 3D set to medium or fine? If so, open the family and look at the geometry. You probably have 2 extrusions, one showing in coarse (or just the analysis line) and one showing in medium/fine. The one showing in medium fine isn't constrained properly to one side. Try flexing the beam length and Cutback in the family to check...
