    Box Gutters

    I am having trouble inserting a box gutter into model. I have tried to create the rectangular gutter in Revit Family Profile and then inserting it into the model. It indicates an error "Cannot create the gutter"
    I have also created it via Revit Family Profile Host and then pick the egde of the 40mm thick roofing, but get the same result.
    Could someone explain so I can continue.

    Can you post the profile you made?

    A profile need to be a closed loop and have no overlapping or intersecting lines.

      Firstly, welcome to the forum

      There are a number of things that could be causing this - profile is not a single loop, self intersecting geometry, sketch lines not joining and a gutter will only attach to horizontal roof edges (fascias will work on sloped edges). Also try using the regular profile family template.

        Sloped gutters can be fun. Model in place a roof using a sweep and the gutter profile. Instant gratification followed by much confusion as everybody else wants to know how you did that

            I have modified the 180 (deep) x 600 (wide) box gutter so that there are no non-linked lines as suggested but the gutter operation gets the same error message?

              I tried to create the gutter with a lager thickness to ensure closure of the profile and it worked
