Where is Sheet 0,0?

    Where is Sheet 0,0?

    I've got a graph that looks at all the Viewports on a Sheet and adjusts the Detail Number based on where they are on the Sheet
    I added a section to look at where the Titleblock is in case it got moved, but every time I've looked at it, the Titlebock is at 0,0
    So I'm wondering if I even need to worry about that, or can I just assume the Titleblock is ALWAYS at 0,0

    A little testing.
    Lower left corner is 0,0 in the titleblock family.
    Create a new sheet and 0,0 of the family will match 0,0 of the sheet.
    So unless someone adjusts the linework in the family, or physically moves the titleblock in the sheet, 0,0 will always match.
    Might be a valid check for the 0.01% of the time, just in case.

    What happens if you didn't have the check? Could you catch the error visually?

      OK, I stopped being lazy and tested it myself (just thought, maybe someone would know off the top of their head)
      For future reference, the Titleblock is NOT always at 0,0.
      I checked one that had been created from "New Sheet" and it was, as expected, at 0,0
      Then I selected the Titleblock family and moved it an inch to the right.
      Ran the graph again, and it reported X=0.083, which is an inch in decimal feet.
      So, in answer to my own question, yes I do need to test the location. Just in case someone did something goofy and moved everything, including the Titleblock

          I adjusted my title block insert location from bottom left to bottom right a while back and unsurprisingly it caused some issues in projects. So I made a graph to move all of the title blocks to 0,0 (see attached.) Still requires someone to move views that are wrong, but its as simple as selecting all the views and moving them the X distance of the title block (36", 42", 48".) And manual checking is good for you sometimes.

            Not sure why that caused issues. My titleblocks origin is the top right of the viewport space (not absolute edge) and has been for years.

            Zero issues.

              I guess I should share.
              My graph is attached below

              All required Packages are documented in orange in the upper left.
              I've got one Custom node that writes a log file of who used it and when, but that's not required. If anyone wants that, I'd be happy to share it, too.
              There's a Code Block that's at the core of the whole thing.

              The first Item in the list is a list of X values that determine where the Zones are.
              Second item is the first part of the Detail Name
              Third and fourth do the same for the Y values.
              Based on where the lower left of the Detail bubble lands, the Detail Number is changed to the corresponding Zone : 1A, or 3F, up to 8H

                I think you're joking, but you can actually find that here:
                invisible font a true type font for windows where the characters are not displayable or printable

                (above his signature he notes that it is freeware, so you could distribute it with the model if you need to)

                and..ummmm..... that's one of my tricks for getting color fill legend swatches to match heights with schedules.:hide:

                  Yes, my sense of humour doesn't come across very well in text... it's much dryer and much more sarcastic...

                    If you select the legend and edit type you can change the font size, color and type
