Sketchy Lines in One Model Only

Has anyone found a way to get sketchy lines in just their own model and not the linked models?

Afraid I've only turned it on (then off) once.

    One predicts view-stacking.

Sketchy lines is an "all or nothing" setting for each view. The suggesting of view stacking or compositing outside of Revit would be the only real solution for what you are asking.

Thank you Snowy and Jeff for your feedback. For 30% documents, I can't bring myself to not use Revit but my fittings are not set up well for coarse detail. Using sketchy for the MEP model, but standard for the linked arch model would solve my issue somewhat, but I'm not going to duplicate all my enlarged plans for this purpose.

As is common in many of these threads, the real issue is something entirely different and I'm trying to make people happy given their misunderstandings.

Can you give us a reason for using sketchy lines for MEP?

The PM/scope deliverable wanted one-line hand sketches. I'm faster and more nimble using Revit than hand sketching. Even at 30%, I think I can give a better product using Revit with more consistent data management for design (aka keep track of stuff).

There was concern over looking "too good" or something at 30%. Coarse detail could maybe have somewhat satisfied that, but as I mentioned, the fittings' coarse detail linework is not quite up to "good drafting practice" for single-line hand sketches. Therefore, proverbial rock and hard place.

I played with the sketchy line detail to consider making my work look less ...good(?)

I say let it eat, it looks good, let's move on. In a nutshell, I wanted my work to look 30%-ish. However, anyone that's done MEP knows that for a 30% construction estimate, you practically have to do 75% of your job. Same old story, different day, new attempt at dealing with it.

Model it Revit, print it, trace it by hand, scan it, print that draft, spill some coffee on it then fax it to the PM with "I trust this is the kind of thing you were after?"...

Then follow that with the first (Revit) output and "But just in case not, here's something else that I think could work, which by the way took me considerably less time to produce"

Asking/expecting less fidelity? WOW. #IfOnly.

Ha! I actually considered something along those lines...

Back in the days of pen plotters we would put the pen in "loose" so it would wobble as it plotted.

Might open their eyes if he sent a bill for the full amount of time spent doing that 2-step approach, but with a note saying "if I had done it in Revit only, it would be this (lower) amount".
