    Revit Structure - Steel Connection

Hi to all! I’m new in this forum and in Revit Structure. In these days I’m trying to built a steel structure and, when I set the connections, I had some problems:

    1) First of all I set an "End plate" - connection, but I had this warning

    2) Then I tried to change the connection with a "Moment end plate" - connection, but when I tried to set the parameters, for the diametrs, I have seen inches as units and I want to change in S.I. units

Can somebody help me and explain me better how to continue please? Thanks in advance

    Hi Daniele,

If you select the bolt type, open the "all" selection set you will see a range of international bolt standards to select from. If you select the standard relevant to you for example I am from New Zealand so our standard bolt "AS 1111" then you will get metric bolt sizes to select from as long as that is the relevant to the standard you select.

Its hard to tell exactly what is going on without seeing what you have entered but most likely there is some form of conflicting info or it is incapable of creating the geometry based on the data you have entered.

It is best to keep an eye on the connection while entering the data so you notice any warning prompt, therefore you will know which piece of data is giving you the error. Might be easiest to start connection again then keep an eye on warning message so you know what is causing the issue.

Hi bcromar, I discovered my error:

          - for make an "End plate" - connection, I only have to selct a beam, no a beam and a column

          - for make a "Moment end plate" - connection, I have to select a column and a beam

If I do in this way, the programme doesn't plot any warning message...I must always remeber to read the messages that Revit plot

          Thank you!
