    View replaced by model

Hello. I was trying to import a light fixture from RevitCity and after I selected to import it into my model, the view I was in, the ceiling plan, was replaced with the model of the fixture. I haven't had this problem before and I'm unsure how to retrieve my ceiling plan. Additionally, this model appears to be a dwg file, something that I haven't imported before. Thanks in advance. I really need that view back!

    Undo or CTRL-Z!!

Or select the light and delete it.

    BTW, welcome!

Are you sure you didn't get into "Edit Family" mode?
There's a nasty default setting where, if you double-click a family, it opens that family in the Family Editor.
Turn off that behavior under Options (big blue R 2017 & earlier, File tab in 2018)
      Options
      User Interface
      Double-click Options
      Family
      change to "Do nothing"

I just turned that off about 2 weeks ago. At first I liked it but then I kept opening it when I didn't want it.
