HI padmore33, You need to provide more information about you pc, first of all: How much RAM do you have, What type of processor do you have and the speed of processor, What type of graphics card and so on.

I'm asking for that because with Sony corporation is not enough to know the type of machine you are running, secondly because Revit demands at least 4GB RAM but that its just for the installation of the software please check the link below:

Learn about the system requirements for different configurations of Autodesk Revit, as well as requirements for Collaboration for Revit®, Revit Server, Autodesk Revit for Citrix®, and support for Parallels Desktop® 10 for Mac®.

anyway Revit needs a decent graphic card and processor to run properly, so if your PC doesn't accomplish with the minimum criteria revit can close suddenly or crash in tasks like PDF export , Hope this can help you find out what's wrong, regards

To market-sell to wider audiences with no idea, or gear. Then when those over-sold users experience the inevitable pain that follows, Autodesk wheel out their mates rocking "accredited" stickers and the gravy train continues on its way toward ever-depreciating gains.

Welcome to the forum padmore33!

The lack of memory is a known issue within Revit and any computer, you need more RAM!! , 4 GB is not enough at all!!, 8 GB or 16 GB make a great difference, Hope this help, regards

These days, 4 Gig is barely enough to run Windows, much less Revit on top of Windows.

Thankfully the majority of students starting with me with new laptops have 8 or 16. Now and then one tries to use an old laptop with 4, and i just can't bear to see the struggle that ensues. The decline in learning is astronomical. Or some insist on not using a mouse! I say i don't help anyone without a mouse, they get one soon enough. And as for touch screens, i can't remember the amount of times i have pointed to something during a complex one on one and completely stuffed the flow..
Get more RAM padmore, at the moment you have a ferrari on 50metres of dirt road.
