Wall intersect, remove gypsum on one side

How to remove gypsum on short side of this intersect?

I tried to set 3D view parts visibility to 'show parts', to maybe be able to manipulate the materials, but the wall is still shown as a single element..

Dont use a wall in 1 piece but add the gypsum as a seperate wall, or make a new wallstyle for the bit without the gypsum.

You need to first break the wall (or other assembly) into parts. "Create Parts". See pic.

But like Robin said, a separate wall, joined to the original, might be a better option. I don't know many that are fond of parts. I tried long ago getting our teams to try them but they ended up hating them in the end. Nor are they good for QTO's if that is a need for you.

One side of the intersection = wall type that has gyp on it.
Other side of the intersection = wall type with NO gyp on it.

Wouldnt even touch parts, for this.

Think about how youre going to tag it: If you edit the wall post-parting, to make that condition, the plans and tags will still show the wall type that has the gyp on it, which isnt correct.

Agree with Aaron, Split the wall and change the type of the wall to one without gyp. You may have to pull the blue grip dot once to get it to clean how you want, but will be best.
