Inserting a point cloud from ReCap into Revit 2016 error message

I'm working with ReCap 360 Pro and Revit 2016.

I've tidied up and optimized, a point cloud in Recap. I've deleted much of the point data, but I have not removed any of the original mirror balls.

When I attempt to insert the point cloud (.RCP) into Revit, I get an error message:

"Unable to create a Point Cloud instance. The file may be an incompatible format or corrupt."

This is my second try with tidying up the entire point cloud .RCP and then attempting to insert it. When I tried to import the untouched .RCP, Revit said I was able to successfully, but I couldn't find out where it went. I stretched the Section Box for about a mile in each direction and still couldn't locate the supposed point cloud ( all visibility settings were switched 'on'). I wouldn't be able to use the scan in it's entirety anyways.

Any ideas would be appreciated. This is the first time I've received this error whilst operating ReCap with Revit.

    Thank you for your time.

    Sincerely,
    Christopher
