    Control Arc Radius in family

    Hi All,

    I have a counter top family I'm working on and its got one side that is curved. I was hoping to create a family for this counter instead of always modelling in place all the time.

    The basics of the family are finished. I just need someone to show me if there's a way to control the large arc so that its stays with in its allotted space while the length of the counter is stretched.

    If anyone has a solution I'd love to hear it.

    Your counter has two small arcs and one large arc which I assume you hope to maintain their tangential relationship as the length of the counter varies. This means you have to determine how to adjust the small arcs so the large arc can maintain its relationship to the space you allotted for it to fit in. That's going to involve turning on the Center Mark for each arc and using Parameters, Formulas and Trigonometry to calculate the correct arc radii and center locations.

        I was thinking about this again and realized I was forgetting about the more recent addition of tangent locking behavior in sketches. I altered your file so there are four separate arcs which can invoke the Tangent Locks.

          But ... If it does not need so much precision it would be better to use half ellipse
