How to import 3ds file into revit?

i dont find any option to import 3ds files into revit. should i first convert the 3ds to 3d-dwg file?

Revit don't allow that kind of import, try to convert the file but IMO you must try to create the object as a native RFA file

      Hi Danezeq,

Unfortunately the workflow is normally the other way around. Just a quick google search came up with the following:

      https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ho...hrome&ie=UTF-8

Of course a 3D DWG coming into to revit would be practically useless if you wanted in revit for the purpose of doing anything even closely useful with it.

I think in such a situation I'd have to build a new revit model. And knowing how things are made in 3DS Max, I wouldn't rely on using it to trace to either, all the dimensions would be useless.
