Controlling View Range with a template

    Hi ,
I was just hoping for some advice on controlling view range with a template.
When i dont include view range in the template controls it gives me normal control over the options:

when i do the Cut palne and the bottom of primary range are linked and i cant use view above as the top.

any thoughts on how to work this generally?

Thanks in advance and sorry if this a basic quesion

    What?

You can uncheck View Range from Template. Is this what you're wanting to do; not "Include" View Range settings?

Yes I can uncheck viewrange and control the view range from instance properties. However when I check to include it I can't control it in the same way for the template. The bottom of the view plane is greyed out and the bottom is linked to the cut plane height. Also I can't use "level above" as the top.

You have to select the template your using in the properties window. Then you can either uncheck the box next to view range or you can adjust it there(but that will just change your template settings.)

I believe if you leave it unchecked the template will still apply the view range setting you want but you have the ability to adjust it without the extra clicks.

        Hope this helps.

Are you in an RCP instead of a floor plan? Your settings will be a little different if you are.
