    St Chapelle Vaulted Ceilings

I'm with a firm now that has Churches as part of their repertoire. Creating an Adaptive Component (not too experienced with A.C. families) to create the Gothic Arch vaulted ceilings. Trying to get a Rig built that does a single segment. So the Ridge from the Face to the Center Axis slopes & need help with how to create a divided path for the side Valleys so I can apply a Shape family to the points. I've attached the 2017 family. Any advice to get the creative juices going. Thank you.
The design concept is from this reference (St. Chapelle)

Well, getting closer. Needing a formula for the Arcs of the Valleys (I'm naming it R2). When I assign it a parameter (w or w/o a formula) it breaks (Locks to planes broken). Maybe I need to look at a differently, maybe I can get away with a straight line & skip all the fun? I feel it may need to work out the Semi-Ellipse that it is, but to work to get there weighs heavily already, lol. The Monkey Wrench is the "Designers" wanting the Arc point at the segment & the Arc point at the Center axis of the Groin Vault to to be at different heights.

After I get this monkey off my back I'll be producing & sharing the Rigs for Segmental, Tudor, Moorish, & 3-Centered Arches for the Groin Vault conditions. No one should go through this torture & I don't mind sharing & keeping the spirit of BIM going by paying it forward
    Attached is the updated version.

PS: Equation of Valley for a Hexagonal Groin Vault... y = cos(h) (x/4) – 1. The one I'm doing will be of 12 faces if 360*.

Thanks, that is awesome, I will have to take a look how you've set this up as Im such an amateur with these adaptive components.

You might like to see if you can get a copy of paul aubin's 'revit renaissance '. It's a couple years old now but has an insane amount of info on building classical architecture forms with revit. Lots of AC goodness.

+1 for that book. I actually took mine to Kinkos (along with a couple other frequent reference books) to get a spiral binding put in instead of the typical book binding. Totally worth the cost.

I actually have the book & skimmed through it to get my creative juices going. I also went through Marcello Sgambelluri AU 2016 class (AR20572: More Families in Motion: New and Exciting Methods That Make Your Revit Families Move) again showing relationships using a Chicken Walker (AT-ST), & a Lull (all-terrain fork-lift) to name a few.
