    Stair Rail Extension (End/Top"

    Hello all,

Can any one help enplane why my railing is stopping 1/4" short. The path is drawn from tread nosing to tread nosing. It ends at an intermediate landing then the stair continues up and double backs (you can see the stair end at the top of the first photo).

I have even tried extending the railing sketch line. The railing does not grow in length until the line is 1 3/4". The bottom was also 1/4" short but I just added a 1/4" sketch line and it worked but not for the top.

thanks for any and all help,
    Steven

sorry I meant to come back and do that was just really frustrated after dealing with stairs all day. I am sure many can relate on here.

        Solution:
The 12" extensions that is needed per code is actually 11 1/4" this is because Revit measures to the sweep line which is in the center of the 1 1/2" rail. You need to take the diameter of the rail divide by two and subtract it from 12" (Keep in mind this is for the OOB rail). If you have a custom rail you need to know the width and where the profile is drawn in regards to the origin.

        Hope this helps,

        Steven
