structural columns showing on screen but not printing

    Hi all,

I have an architectural model with a linked structural model. In plan views I have structural columns showing as they should but none of them get printed. I've also searched the web exhaustively but can't find a solution anywhere. Things I checked but that do not seem to be the problem:

    - raster processing
    - different real and PDF printer
    - disabling hardware acceleration

Does anyone have any idea what's going on here?

**FIXED BY INSTALLING THE LATEST UPDATE OF REVIT**

extremely difficult to resolve this kind of issue without interrogating your model / view filters etc.

You could try, instead of using the linked model directly, using a linked view for the relevant level.
Go to "VV" or "VG" options, go to the revit link tab and set it to "personalised" and instead of "by host view" search for the actual view in the linked model for that level. Then you may need to go ahead and filter out their dimensions etc and other elements or annotations that do not interest your documentation

Thanks for the tip. I tried this setup and then I get all the annotations (structural column tags)from the linked model but still don't see the columns. I've used this setup before numerous times and I never ran into a problem like this. The fact that I see things on screen that don't get printed is a very rare occurrence in my experience.

update: sections seem to work fine, ceiling plans have the same problem.

update 2: On a colleagues computer everything works fine. It seems there's a problem with my particular installation of revit or the combination of my OS/hardware/revit installation. Strange thing remains that it only shows itself in not printing visible structural columns in a linked model.

good to hear you resolved the issue

for future reference, once you "personalise" the view linked in you can also modify the "VG" settings for that linked view, and simply turn off all the annotations by ticking the box at the top of the annotation category filters (of the revit link not of your view)
