Export to DGN with SPC coordinates?

We're working with a Civil engineer who uses Microstation and the SPC (State Plane Coordinate) system. We have created site plans from their survey, and have aligned our Shared Coordinate with the SPC system in their files.

The issue is getting our drawings exported to DGN and back to them with the same coordinate system. They're saying the DGN export from us does not align with their coordinates. It seems I can export a DWG with the correct coordinates, but I don't see any such options when exporting to DGN. Any ideas? Could they import a DWG into Microstation and use that instead of an actual DGN drawing?

They can open a DWG and work on it natively, but with some limited functionality. DGN exporting and importing in Revit sucks. If they require a DGN deliverable, either buy a copy of Microstation to create the DGN from the DWG or try Autocad to do the conversion (not used Autocad in many years so not sure how the export to DGN will perform - should be ok. Autodesk and Bentley traded the DWG and DGN code a number of years back).

Yeah we did DWG with Shared Coordinates and they report that it comes in correctly into Microstation.
