I have imported an IFC file into Revit 2016, but it does not show up anywhere in any view. It is listed as loaded under Manage Links, and it shows up in Visibility Graphics. Do the display settings need to be changed for it to show up? Currently, the Display Setting is set to Host View.

That would happen with me too; normally it meant that the IFC is there but just a long distance away; try going to a fresh 3D view, and Z-E the view. It should turn up. Somewhere. Otherwise select the item in the project browser and right-click "show" [I'm away from Revit so can't remember the exact command] ?Kamran Mirza

I would recommend doing as Iberkim has noted. My personal preference for importing IFC files after having issues for a few years with them is to open them first, save them as a Revit file then import them as a Revit link. I have found this the simplest way to control IFC files as it first checks the file works and then I do not end up having to reconvert the file if the link is lost (important for large IFCs, had had some take up to two hours to convert into Revit).Last edited by bcromar; July 12, 2017, 03:07 AM.Bryce Cromar | Design Team Manager | https://www.calderstewart.co.nz/ | Dunedin, New Zealand

I'm having the same problem now. I have opened the IFC in solibri and it looks fine, I've opened it in a blank revit file and it's fine, however i update the link from the old file version and it simply doesnt appear (the old information just disappears off screen!). As far as Im aware all that has changed is that the consultant has now corrected the position of the information to our shared co-ordinates.
I dont particularly want to open the file in revit and save it as we are receiving this file every 2 weeks and it's extra work we dont want to have to do each time we receive it

Share the same thing with all your consultants and always use this position for IFC files. We have the same problem atm and this solved it.
