    Contour Line & Text Visibility

    Hey Guys,

I have a two part question.

Firstly, what is the best way to display existing contours on a site plan that overlay a building? The way I have done it in this project is to copy the topography over the house and make it transparent. The problem with this is I have issues with items not displaying when printing. Plus it's a pain having a Topo surface floating above my project.

Secondly, Is there anyway to make the contour levels text transparent instead of Opaque? It would be nice to get rid of that pesky white box.

Any input is appreciated, I have attached an image to help communicate my queries.

    Thanks, Nick

1 - You will have to adjust some of your Phase Settings. We typically have a Phase Setting, that shows bot the Existing Topo & the New Topo Together, with the new Topo being Colored in Red. you can then see where the differrence is.

2 - I'm guessing here - Select the Contour Label, and edit its properties. change the Style from Opaque to Transparent

      Hey Dwane,

Thanks for your response. I understand that you can use phase filters to compare existing and new Topo surfaces, my questions is display contour lines through the building as shown in the picture. Normally you would only see the contours up to the sides of the building, then the building covers the lines. I want them over layed as shown and wanted to know if there were any alternatives to copying the Topo surface above the building.

I have looked into the text and it doesn't seem to have the same properties as normal text.

      Thanks, Nick

Use the old 2 View Method

Place your Roof Plan on the Sheet
Place your Site Plan on top of this, with the Topo being fully transparent
