    Rendering Colored Glass in Revit 2017

    Hi all,

    I've been using revit for some quiet a while and been on 2017 version. I am working on a simple rendering trying to get colored glass in my windows but for some reason it is not rendering properly either clear or black. I've played with materials, reluctance and rendering setting (I usually use the cloud with out any issues)Any ideas why this is not working!! getting very frustrated here!!

    Guessing that the material map is not being modified for each material. You are probably changing the appearance which shows fine in unrendered views, but the actual material map is not being modified.

        Materials have a couple settings to pay attention to. There is the graphics properties tab, which (generally) controls what you see in a hidden line / consistent color / shaded view and there is the appearance tab which controls the actual material map & properties. It looks like your graphics are set correctly but your material assets (appearance tab) may not be. You need a new asset for each color you need in your rendering. You don't technically need a map for colored glass but using a map can help get the color to be a little more accurate versus using an RGB value.

          Also check to see if you are rendering with the Light and Material Accuracy set to Advanced or Quality Setting at High or Best. I believe Draft and Medium drop out certain material properties to decrease rendering time.
