    Make your plate family work plane based and uncheck always vertical -> load it to the parent family -> override -> select plate -> edit work plane -> choose pick a plane option -> pick horizontal plane of the ref line.

    Is there a reason you're using structural components in the family? What are you trying to achieve?

    I've never enjoyed nesting structural things into other families, as structural components tend to have their own set of rules.

    I know there's a number of forum posts addressing this, but after reading and trying to apply the solutions, I still cannot constrain this nested family (in the attached file) to an angle parameter.

    Any clues?
