    How to get a wall based family to a cut generic model

    I will try explain this as best I can. I have a wall based family. In my main model this control box sits behind vertical slats which are used as a wall decoration essentially. I want my control box to cut the generic model where ever it is placed.

    My wall based family has a void in it but it does not cut anything in the main model. Is this possible?

    You would need to use the Cut geometry tool and select the control box and the slat wall to cut it out. it will not do it automatically.
