So this year Autodesk University is allowing the users to vote for their favorite class proposals.

Since Kamran seems to have a class, I believe it is only fair that we open THIS thread to all Speakers hoping to get a vote for their proposal.

Voting ends June 16th! There are 154 proposals just for Revit Architecture and 127 for MEP. Even less for Revit Structure.

Lots to vote on, on a little tiny screen that is smaller than the sponsor panel.

Landscape Architecture Workflows in Revit for Collaboration and Documentation

This class looks at the workflow required for integrating the landscape architect's scope of work into Revit for the landscape architect. From modelling all the elements involved in landscape architecture to preparing design and construction documentation. The aim of this is to tap into the advantages of BIM that architecture and engineering disciplines have been leveraging in the recent past. More too often, the BIM model of the building allows high-quality coordination but is let down when it comes to landscape architecture, going back to relying on 2D workflows. This class shows how there can be real-time collaboration between the architecture, civil infrastructure and the landscape architecture bringing the advantages of BIM into the work of landscape architecture. Real world examples and sample documentation with a sample template will be presented along with an overview of the current state of products available to support landscape architecture in Revit.

I came up with this after working with the landscape architecture team at my last office [a nameless US-based multi-national architecture firm that has been topping the revenue league tables for 2014 / 2015 . . .] and getting fed up with all our work done in revit and coordinated to the nth-degree but then having to go back to 2D to coordinate with the landscape architects. This time around, we had an in-house landscape architecture team that had an enthusiastic desire to be trend-setters and to jump on to the UK's Stage-2 BIM bandwagon. So we spent half a year developing how to get all of the landscape architect's work into revit, and thereby also developing a template for future work.

Half a year? Perhaps you are using the wrong tool for landscapes

Yes, the whole project took half a year: for a 300,000 sft lab building and a ~75,000 sft amenity building. The landscape work I guess took max ~2 months or so for the two [@ ~1 month each] work stages that covered the documentation.

I mentioned the time period for the whole project as I was on the project for the whole six months and I'd continue discussions and refining processes with the landscape team when they were 'hibernating' on the project as we were working in the same office.

The time also included training and getting the landscape team onto Revit from scratch.
