Lineweight control in a linked model

Hi guys, it's been a while since I've posted anything. Hopefully I get the same excellent help as I did before!

so I have an architectural model linked in to my structural. I like the architects model (the background on the sheets) to be a specific lineweight. As it is, many of the walls are very thick. they are halftone and the tone is good, but they are very thick and I cannot figure out how to make them thinner. I don't want to open up and do it in their model, because we get a new model every week. So I just want to set up my file so that it makes theirs look correct.

See image for the very thick line weights on the walls.

    Thank you in advance!

V/G > Revit Links > Click on "By Host View" > Basics tab, select "Custom" > Model Categories Tab > Click the <By host view> Dropdown, change to Custom. Now you can edit the Projection and Cut lines easily.

Tip: do this in a View Template so you don't have to do this step every time.

I did all of that earlier. I apologize for not stating that earlier.

So I have found the problem. The linked model has so many lines for gyp bd and plywood that even though the lines are thin, they come out looking thick (see image). I wonder if there is a way to get it down to just the stud lines...

No, but you can it down to just the outer most lines by switching the category or the view to coarse.
