Hi All,....well first post here so a big Hello to everyone!
Slightly unusually for me, this is another school project. A previous 'architectural' practice were involved in this project and came up with a rather uninspiring design (food tech existing design.jpg) for a food technology building which is basically a classroom for approx 30 students to learn about cooking!.
However, it was granted planning permission and the school were about to build it. They approached my company to build it, but I could not help comment on the slightly dull nature of it's appearance! I mentioned I would come up with a design that would work with the existing height and mass of the original (in order to hopefully maintain the existing planning permission)and see what could be done to enhance the shoe box!
Here is my idea (screen shots from sketchup....ok....I know it's a revit forum....but I did do it originally in revit, then took it into sketchup for a quick animation and liked the screenshot!!!)
Well the headmaster (school principle) loved it. During my presentation to him, he even dragged in a class of school children to comment on the design and thankfully, they all said ...... 'that's soooo cool' so I guess I'm still 'down with the kidz'......
(edit) forgot to mention, we have been commisioned to build it now, so just working through the technical details and specification of the building now and hope to be on site in Feb, completion in August! (end of edit....)
Anyway, easy to criticise others so please feel free to fire away on mine!
Hope you are all well and enjoying the new year.
