    Family Preview Thumbnail

I know how to set up a preview thumbnail for a family so it shows up in windows browser, family open dialogue box, or a content management software. But it is very time consuming to do so for each family in an office library. Does anyone know of addin that will automate this process? I know Content Studio has that feature, but its a part of a bigger software. I need an addin that specifically does just this.

    Thanks!

Hi FrenchQuarters - I actually recently created an add-in that does EXACTLY this (batch process entire libraries). It's really cool! It allows you to customize how the previews work BY CATEGORY. It will also run automatically whenever you save families.

I've used PIG and it works awesome. The pay version batch processed my entire library. Then I shoved all the previews in to my CTC BIM List Server and force updates everyone's machines.

I also use the Stantec free adding on managing running addins to make sure PIG is unloaded if I need to run a CTC Family Processor, as they conflict with one another because of how they save the file.

      Piece of cake, works great!
