    Change Color for Revit 2015

Hi! I am trying to change my color with Revit 2015. I have upgraded to R14 but still not showing in the Options panel. Not sure if this is my Workstation Card ATI FirePro GL 4100 Graphics card which is newer than my version of Revit. Any ideas!
    Thanks

The more varied options for color only became available with the release of Revit 2015 R2. It is only available to active subscribers or maintenance plan holders (their use of those terms is getting murky). It's a separate update you'll have to download and install before you be able to access that feature. I wrote a post about the tricky installation path for it. Success is affected by which updates you've already applied...which from your post suggests you don't have any yet...which makes it easier.

Aha! I thought it would be something like that! OK how do I know what release I'm on! I thought by downloading and installing R14 that this would have covered all these releases as this was the last update I was told! I lost my subscription last year as I couldnt hang on anymore financially. Wonder where this leaves me now?
      Thanks

What version do you actually have installed? You mentioned upgrading to 2015 earlier but in the quoted bit you wrote R14, which could mean AutoCAD R14

It may not be obvious but that's the older version, the number is based loosely on years but like cars it references the year after it is released, a revenue recognition thing that only accountants really care about.

If you let your subscription lapse then you'll be faced with a large bill to get back up to the latest version. This year marks the first that we can only rent the software, monthly, quarterly or yearly. Letting the old release's subscription lapse was a fairly big financial mistake unfortunately.

Best bet, contact an Autodesk Reseller in your area and have them run down your options. There may be some sort of short lived deal they are offering because the really want people to jump on board with renting instead of owning the software.

Hello Steve! I just downloaded and installed Revit 2015 Update R14. This is not Autocad. The actual Build is: 20160512_1515 Update Release 14. This gets incredibly confusing as I know there is a UR2 UR3 and UR4. I'm beyond trying to figure this one out. I was assured that I have the latest update however there seems to be another R14 Release for Subscription. Unreal! Realizing that I should have kept my subscription up I now see that Autodesk is jacking up the Subscription costs over the next 3 years up to 20% and reducing the Leasing that much for the next 3 years to get everyone off subscription and onto leasing. Wow! There's going to be some unhappy campers who have been fighting to maintain there subsriptions.

Okay, sorry to put you through that...just wanted to be clearer.

It's been awhile but if you've installed the updates past the R4 patch then you'd have to reinstall Revit 2015 and then apply the UR2 version. I suggest you have a read through my BLOG POST about the naming and process...or the Autodesk blog post I link there.

It may be for naught if you can't access your account and download that version with your subscription lapsed. I'd start there, log on...see if that version is posted and listed as available to you. If so then you can deal with the ornery install process. Good luck!

that I believe is the latest for R2015. Change your color by going to the Big R in the upper left, Options, Graphics, and under Colors select the button

Thanks Steve! I'll have to think about all that. Not sure if its worth the hassle and I doubt very much that they will let me access that now that my subscription has lapsed.

Dave, that feature only shows up with the special Update Release 2 for subscription accounts. Another way to refer to it is early release 2016 features that were code complete and no file format change required. Unfortunately merely having the latest "service pack" Update 14 isn't bringing those features too.

oops! I looked at the OPs version and assumed that we were the same as we are both Update Release 14 but theirs is _1515 and mine is _0715. Sorry!
