    Revit for designing swimming pools

    Hello,

I am thinking of buying Revit for drawing plans of renovations and visualisations.
But our company also builds swimming pools.
For the moment we are using pool studio for the design of swimming pools.

The problem is that this program has some issues and is not ideal for european measurements.

My question is, is it possible to create complex shapes in revit like in the video above?
Can you create complex swimming pools with water flow etc....

Yes, it is possible. This video that you sent looks like it was modeled in Revit, and rendered using Lumion.

Yes, its possible. Honestly, thats a very simple pool to model. But you can do more complex pools in Revit, as well.

Whilst modelling said pool would be no great challenge in Revit, I think it first best we check, (not knowing the 'Pool Studio' software) what you mean by:

Does 'Pool Studio' calculate flow-rates and other pool-related technical (mechanical) aspects? Pumps? Sumps? Etc...

Revit, OOTB, won't provide these - at least not without working with MEP components, and that'll be a-near vertical learning "curve".

Bear in mind - though sometimes sold as one - Revit is not "a one stop shop".

(Rev)it will (can) give you the constrution-quants, (areas of finishes, volumes of water, number of components like stairs, etc), and then yes, could be plugged into a viz. engine (more outlay to consider) to get same-grade visuals (as that video) - but you might find you still need to retain 'Pool Studio' in your workflow if it does as I've queried?
