In 2011 the add-ins should be placed in: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2011

    In 2012 it´s been changed to: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\REVIT \Addins\2012

Above paths are for Vista/Win7

What I know is that in RST 2011 Extensions are in the Add-ins tab, but in RST 2012 there are 2 tabs: Add-ins and Extensions. Add-ins are for 3rd party programs while Extensions are made by Autodesk. (2012)
For both versions, Extensions are to be downloaded from the Subscription Center.
      Hope it helps.

        Add-Ins

Sorry I still hv problem in RST (2011) to find add-ins tool in the menu bar, I'm using win XP. When I'm going to C:\ what is present in my computer is C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RST 2012\(Family Temperate, Library, Temperate) instead of C:\ProgrmData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2011
and all folders after RST 2012 are empty.

Didn´t think that anyone would still be using Windows XP, but here´s the path:

          C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2011 or 2012

It depends on what you need. You can search the web, or better yet try this section of our forum.

                Hello there,

I can't get the Addins tab to show up in Revit 2012? Do you know what I'm doing wrong? I have added the hatch22 addin folder, RFO_RibbonAddins folder. But the addins tab won't show? Is there somthing I'm missing? I have tried to put them both in these directories:

                C:\Users\*user*\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Add ins\2012
                C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2012

                Thanks,
                Lorne

Hi Lorne, and welcome to the forum. Have you unblocked the .dll´s as Jose explained in this post?

                    I followed the procedure.
But i still can't see the Add-ins tool.
Probably, I don't know how to load it.
Any procedure in detail? and Please explain me a bit what I can do with this Add-In? Sorry to ask a lot since I'm a newbie
                    Thanks.
