    Copying elements in linked model

I'm looking to copy elements from a linked model to other floors and have them retain their links. Is this possible?

We are getting weekly Revit models from the architect that I have linked into my MEP project. There are a lot of typical floors in the project, but architect only drew a lot of the typical elements such as ceilings on one level. I'd like to copy some of these elements up these typical levels I am working on but still retain. Only problem is, when I do this, I believe they are lost from the link when a new architectural model link is saved over. Weekly models makes this very annoying to do every time. Is there a better way?

No. Frankly, your architect needs to stop being lazy. They can use Groups to make the process of getting the information on the upper floors coordinated with the lower.

That's what I figured. Yes, making groups and copy to aligned levels seems like an easy task for the architect. But you'd be surprised how many don't do this.
