Rooms & phasing in schedules issue

I am working on a house where I have two plans. Plan #1 is showing existing conditions and plan #2 is showing new construction. The existing floor plans have the phase filer: 'show all, and the phase: "01-existing" For the new construction drawings, I have the phasing as "03-new construction" and the phase filter as "show previous + new"

The floor plans are showing the appropriate things and I am not having issues with this.

I am having a problem with the phasing of the rooms.

The issue i am having, is that on the new construction plans, the rooms that I made no changes to are showing in the wrong phase "03- new construction" despite being created in the existing phase. This is causing problems with my schedules, because I just want to simply apply a phase filter and just show rooms that were newly created in the new construction plans and leave out existing rooms.

It look as though when I made the new floor plan, the phasing of the rooms changed from existing to new, by virtue of being on the new plans.

Question: how can I prevent the existing rooms from going into the phase "03-new construction" on the new plans? they're existing, untouched rooms, i am not sure why they're showing up in the wrong phase. Similar to the way existing, unmodified walls show up in the new construction plan, I want the rooms to do the same.

Rooms aren't phased - you'll notice they have no "Phase Created" or "Phase Demolished" properties. They only exist in the phase they are created in (the phase of the view they are created in). You can copy rooms between phases, but they have no link - it is a duplicate object.

Then why are the rooms that I previously created on the existing floor plan showing up on the new floor plan as being created in the new construction phase? I want them to show as existing, as I had originally created them.

They may have been copied, or maybe you renamed your phases after you created the rooms, or maybe they are in the model but not actually placed? I'm also not sure what you mean by applying a Phase Filter to a Room Schedule, I don't see an option for that. I typically have the opposite problem - I add a new phase and have to copy all the rooms into it.

I would use a few schedules to sort out what is going on (one for each phase; maybe add the Area field to quickly see what is placed and what is not).
