    show ID revit 2017

    Hi,
    was using for revit 2016, 2015 Show ID for revit, a strongly good app, that it is not (yet) developed for revit 2017. Can someone help me to reach the same issue of Show ID (automatically in schedule) app, by some ways?have you had any experience regarging this need/issue?

    Dont know how your app worked but dynamo will do that easily using get and set parameter value nodes.

    Actually dynamo will list ID's straight out of the category / element nodes. Youll just need to make sure your lists are sorted before writing back to revit.

      no dinamo

      Thanks to the fast response, but I don't know how to use dinamo.
      The main point it is easy: how it works Show Id.
      It is easy to use: select 1element of the category that you wanna investigate the (all) ID. Click on show I'd, and it will appear all the ID number to all the element of that family you've chosen. Later on it will appear in the schedule parameter the "ID number" as a parameter that you may schedule in.

      Whitout this all, with no app, how can I create a schedule that shows the ID number of some families?

        Afaik you cant show ID's from revit ootb. Do some googling its really easy with dynamo

          You can do this using Manage > IDs of Selection. A window will pop up with the ID(s) of your selection highlighted so that all you have to do is hit CTRL-C to put it on your clipboard.

            The OP was aking how to show ID's in a schedule. Good luck pasting copied ID's into a schedule. Lol.

              Infact I don't think is the shortest (and automate) way to do it by only revit. The plugin developer told me that in some weeks will be ready the new upgrade for revit16 and revit17. I think that the best way is to wait.

                Well yes.. you can wait weeks, months, years until a developer makes a tool that does exactly what you need.
                Or, this kind of thing is so utterly trivial with Dynamo you can just do it in 10 min...

                For simple data handling tasks Dynamo requires only a basic understanding of how parameters and families are arranged in Revit and no programming experience is needed. It makes all the stuff that is unneccesarily difficult in Revit, like copying Parameter A to Parameter B, incredibly easy.

                You just need to make some project parameters ComponentID and ComponentGUID and run this;

                  Oh, my bad! But this could very easily be done with Dynamo like josephpeel said. It would be a very good "get your feet wet" exercise with Dynamo.
