Can Spotify or any other cloud streaming service interfere with create new local?

We have a user on Revit 2015 who gets the error that Revit is not able to create a local while running Spotify.
She has the permissions to the project folder, does have the Create Local box checked in the File Open dialog, and is on Revit 2015 R2 UR 14.

I recollect that some services have interfered with Worksharing Monitor...

I recollect that the Adobe Creative Cloud app hosed up the WSM at some point in the distant past. We uninstalled Creative Cloud so I don't know if that is an issue anymore. I have not heard anything about Spotify, but I my intuition says having it running does not help Revit go faster.

Then again, I can't imagine it's making Revit run noticeably slower.

Do you mean Spotify or Adobe Creative Cloud?

Spotify. Can't be using that many local resources and network traffic with Revit is minimal. Creative Cloud is run locally, yes? Big program, hog on resources, just like Revit. Running both will tie things up.

Thanks for the response, Greg. I posted this because I am unsure whether disabling Spotify is a false positive. I am definitely curious if this was a unique situation.

Just to clarify, is this user having trouble creating a new local using C4R? If that is the case, it seems possible that bandwidth might be affected by running Spotify at the same time as creating a new local file using C4R. I have not tried it and I am not sure how you would measure it.
As far as I know, the Creative Cloud issue never directly affected Revit, only the worksharing monitor.

The user was unable to create a new local with standard network worksharing, not C4R. However, to clarify, we disabled SpotifyWebHelper service to "resolve" the issue.

Glad you got it worked out. If you want to drill in further, a journal file capturing the failed "create local" operation would be a good place to start. Would be interesting to see the failure signature of the operation.
