"Override display settings for this instance"

    Hey all,

I am trying to bind a link into my model and I keep getting this error specifying name 10 (10 being the instance) : ID 1753399.
When I got to visibility/graphics overrides >> Revit links and look at the model I want to bind, click to expand that link and there is a number assigned to it.

The Linked File (as you think of it) is a TYPE of Link. Then when there is an instance placed, it gets a Name. 10 is the name of the instance you have placed.

So if you have a linked file called COTTAGE and you link it in three times, there will still only be one COTTAGE in manage Links, but it will have three INSTANCES with different names. The Names default to numbers, and most folks dont know they are there so they dont rename them.

Ok so how do I fix this so I can bind the link and not the error for 10?

I have no idea. You havent actually shown us or given us the error message. All we know is there is an error that somehow relates to instance 10. That doesnt tell us anything.

Error loading its elements in to the current project.

Ive seen that when there is a conflict between somethings definition in the link, versus in your project. So, a family that is the same name and type, but is different somehow, and makes it not work in the linked model. Also seen it if there are CAD layers different in CAD imports.

Well, it looks like there will be more investigation needed then. I'll let you know what I find
