    insert from file on older projects

    If you use the insert from file command on an older project does it permanently upgrade the file?

    No, it temporarily upgrades it, which is a colossal waste of time. If you go back for a detail ten minutes later, itll have to upgrade it again.

    Plus, i would recommend never using that feature and pulling details from *other projects.* If the details were worth keeping, i would hope a BIM Manager would extricate them from the project and put them in the current versions library.

      I usually only use it to pull schedules from a previous project that is 'non-standard' (for a bunch of banks). We have standard details and schedules files for everyday use.
