    Basic curtain wall question

    Hi,

I am new to curtain walls and have tried to play about making my own custom panels. I've then loaded this into a brand new project, created a simple box mass, and applied a curtain wall system to the faces.

All I want to do is use my custom panels on the curtain system but I've no idea how. The custom panel shows up in the project browser, but I can't see anywhere where I can select my custom panels. If I select a single panel, I can change the type between: empty system panel, glazed system panel, and solid system panel. Nowhere does my custom one show up.

It's probably simple but every page I've googled trying to find the answer says you 'just select your custom panel' so I must be missing something.

    Any help?

    Thanks

    Welcome to RFO, seems!
How did you make your Panel family?
Did you start with the Curtain Wall Panel.rft family Template?
In the Project Browser, does it show up under Curtain Panels?

I believe that you can only use system panels on mass based elements.

Create a standard curtain wall and then go to the properties....I'll be your custom panel you created can be selected.

Hi Dave - I actually used the Curtain Panel Pattern Based template, as I'd seen a video where they simply load the panels onto an existing grid. I assumed the grid was a curtain wall system, but is this not the case? Would I need to recreate my panel in the template you've stated?

            Thanks
