Adaptive Curtain Wall Panel top/bottom offset issue

It's been a while since i've made an adaptive CW panel family...
so i've made one using the triangle flat family. it flexes fine when i get it into the mass family,

    but then THIS
    adaptive panel offset.PNG

The blue is the top of the mass
the gray on the left is the basic pattern
the gray on the right is the panels applied to that side of the mass

for some reason it keeps adding an offset on the top as you can see (by about the same amount as the thickness of the panel in this case, if i make the panel thicker, it does NOT change the top offset that you see in the pic)
i know, it's not OVERLY obvious in this pic, but it shows the overall issue i'm having

it's doing the same on the bottom of the mass. Size of the mass doesn't matter, it continually gives it that offset.

I'm stumped where the hell that offset is coming from, and it's only happening at the top and bottom of the mass
    as seen in this pic
adaptive panel offset top and bottom.PNG
(i also made the panels thicker so you can see there's no real connection between the thickness of the panel and the amount of top/bottom offset that occurs)

    any guidance?

    thanks ahead all!

      UGH, it's SPOT on 2" (51mm)

gonna try and rebuild it to see if it's a random thing, or constant..

anyone else have insight on this??
