Revit 2016- crash / freezes when inputing text into a finish schedule

We have an issue that plagues many of our projects, there is a finish schedule in our template and when any user trying to input text into any of the fields revit hangs and eventually crashes. I know I've dealt with this before, but I can't remember the solution. We can input that data from the material editor, but if done in the schedule, game over.

    Any ideas?

Ive seen that happen (over the years), when machines didnt properly have the same Render Appearance Image folders set in the options dialogue, and/or werent mapped to the same materials.

That could definately explain it. I had to repath all the materials to transfer the model to "Live" for VR. Live wouldn't find the network paths we have set up. or because on my machine they are "sync'd" folders. Not sure. But that could certainly be the issue. Thanks !!! Do you think it would fail if one machine is pathed to dalfs and one to tamfs?

It shouldnt, since those network paths WERE all syncing.

        BTW... LIVE sucks, LOL.

What have you found to work best? We are using HTC Vive in Tampa, and I was able to get a very complex model into live with it. It flickers though where we have finish walls (thin ones) over Gyp. Ie Wallcoverings.

Hardware wise, ive demoed the Vive, the Oculus, and the Hololens. But for me its not the hardware thats the issue. (Disclaimer: Youre talking abuot Autodesk Live, right?). Having to constantly upload and download a model to look at it in VR/AR, is just silly to me.

Im pretty hardware neutral. Since i get serious motion sickness (and since only one person can wear the devices at the time, until the devices get elegant enough to carry around their own GPU without a freaking backpack), the headsets are kind of *meh* to me.

Sorry, I meant what software do you prefer? We have set up an area where clients and the Fire Marshal can come and walk around and look for stuff. So I like that aspect of it. But I know what your saying about Live(yes, Adsk), Fuzor was realtime 3 years ago with better abilities. But expensive.

At the moment im using a combination of Revizto and Enscape. If its Project stuff and i want to have the drawings tied in, it goes in to Revitzo. That way during the walk through, i can cut to drawings and everything. But it takes lonnnnnnnng to export, these days. And it doesnt look AS pretty as id like.

So if i want a QUICK look around, i shove parts of models or content in to Enscape.

Have Colin look into the support history from Autodesk where I was the contact... There are about 5 or 6 materials that have to be renamed and then it works fine.
