    Short Server Outage August 22nd

The server went offline, and returned database errors for a few minutes, because of me goofing with the backup schedule at the new server...

Just had a short outage again... still the backups that are causing a great deal of grief.

Am very sorry for the inconvenience, and hope to have this matter resolved ASAP.

OK Boss. Guess you either: Don´t need the backups anyway? Have someone else more qualified on hand? Or, plan to create the backup schedule yourself?

Either way, I´m off to play some golf, and enjoy my new found spare time

Hmmm, little hiccups after a complete site migration? Seems not so shocking. And working (and validated) backups seem worth the effort. Of course by next year we will be so big we will need multiple servers around the world. Then any one server can come down for maintenance during the local night. All we need is 10 thousand or so more members and the little one server inconvenience goes away!

Thanks for keeping us up and running. And I think maybe we need a golf emoticon.

              Klaus,

You're doing a stellar job with the website. That fact that some downtime is going to happen is completly normal.

              Side Thought:
Ive never golfed at night.... is it fun? How do you find your ball in the dark? Do the golf carts have lights?

Ha ha guys, I don´t even play golf (but would have self illuminating golf balls, if I did)... Alex just reminded me of all the things i would have time to do if there were no Revit and no RFO

Anyway, yesterdays "hickups" were caused by the automated backups, which where filling up the disks, and causing the server to stall at 0% free disk space (Which is really odd, since we´re only using ~1GB of 15GB available). We made some changes last night, and will try to run the scheduled backups again this morning - Hopefully there will be no "hickups"! <crossing fingers>
