Length/Width/Height in Schedule Creation of Bookcase Family

    Length/Width/Height in Schedule Creation of Bookcase Family

    I have created a bookcase family in Revit.

    Once importing the family into a Revit project (simple 1 story home) I create a sheet and import the furniture schedule onto the sheet.

    4 of my bookcases with different parameters are placed within the home.

    I wish to have the length width and heights of each instance of the bookcase found on the schedule located on my sheet.

    Is this a possibility? Thank you!

    Its possible. You will have to use SHARED PARAMETERS in the family, not Family Parameters. Once you get in to using SP's, scheduling will start to work.

    Oh, unless the L, W, and H are the OOTB parameters, which you can also schedule.

        OOTB = Out of the box (native Revit content)

          "Out of the Box" ... or in this case, since it's a family, parameters that are built into the family template.

              The out of the box parameters mentioned here are actually system parameters defined in the Revit code. They are actually by the category and part type not specifically the family template.

              To understand more clearly create a new family from the generic model family template and go look at the parameters in the Family Types dialog. You will see only Identity Data parameters. Now change the category to Casework and Revit will add 5 new parameters.
