    Material scheduling question...

OK, so I am tagging a bunch of materials on my exterior elevations.
S-# for stucco, PT-# for paint, etc.
Half of my fascias tag AND show up in my material finish schedule...the other half do NOT show up...even when I check show EVERY instance!
How does a material not show up if "show every instance" is checked?!
I've been chasing this down for a couple of hours and I'm burnt!
Anybody have any ideas where to start?

Some items wont show up in Material Take offs. I dont remember what they all are, but i think Wall Sweeps and Roof Fascias might be some of them.

Sweeps do not show up. So you have to create a material "sample" family for all materials that you use on sweeps. Or figure out some way to put those materials on items that schedule. I use a generic model family, called material sample. Put it in a storage closet or somewhere(I use a previous phase) and set a filter so the family doesn't show up. I actually put all finishes in the previous phase and tag them and then use that as a graphical legend for all the materials(duplicate as dependent) for as many times as you need it to show up on sheets. There are numerous advantages to this method.

100% - I'm all about (digital) "swatches" for this kind of thing - and yet, depsite being surrounded by the real deal in real life (swatches that is) I find many post-CAD people struggle with the concept. Strange when you consider they will have been the ones drawing their legend blocks for so many years!?
