That way when they say "But our hardware guys will freak out!", you can show them the email that says they don't care.
I'm more worried about the GC's that are still stuck in 1985 in methods & expectations of what something 'looks like.' Especially since the GC is the developer who is our client :banghead:

Interesting. I wonder how big of an aneurysm it would cause some of the high-ups if I just got rid of it...

    Thanks for the input.

Yeah. I ditched those fields when i was setting up an office in NY in 2009. I havent gotten a single question about it, either. I key the doors to the rooms based on the Door Number, and nothing shows up with Room Names in the door schedule at all.

We went back and forth on the "To Room" "From Room" field for quite a while (especially since once upon a time, someone made all out doors "backwards")
Since they were hardly ever correct and people constantly forgot to change them, we just changed out schedule to show both.

We checked with our Hardware specifier consultants, and they all said they never really used the field in the schedule anyway. They always look at the plans.

Door & Room Association not working with Groups

I've noticed this on a few projects and am clueless as to what causes it and how to resolve it.

I'm working with an assisted living facility - the resident rooms are all groups and include the corridor wall & entry door in the group. The problem I keep having is when I go through the schedule and change the Room parameter for the doors they continually change to something other than what I need it to be. I.E.:
Door R101 | Corridor 100 (this is incorrect and what refuses to change)
Door R101 | Resident Room R101 (this is what it should be)

The doors are more or less the doors Aaron posted here a while back and do not have the room calculation point turned on and the project is workshared.

Is this an ID10-T error or is there some trick to getting the schedule to behave?
