Visibility settings for objects under a transparent object

I have a cable tray placed under some electrical panels, and I set the panels to transparent to see the cable tray.
The issue is, I want the trays projection lines to be dashed (now they are halftoned) where the panels are. Anyone know how to change those settings? (Revit 2015)

The panels does not need to be transparent to see the cable tray. The display of the hidden line is dependent up the hidden line's gap setting and the width of the object above.
    • Set the view's Visual Style to hidden line.
    • Adjust the Electrical Settings > Hidden Line > Gaps as necessary for the hidden line to show. Set them to 0" to start and adjust up from there. NOTE: This will affect the gap on all hidden line elements.
    • Adjust the <Hidden> Line Style as necessary to show the dashes as desired.

A panel's depth is often too shallow to allow the hidden line to show based on the gap's dimensions
