    Templates by Unit?

    Ladies & Gentlemen,

Is it necessary to have separate metric and imperial templates or is it sufficient to have a metric template and a project units be changed to imperial if required? Thanks.

This would be my recommendation ... I wouldn't want to have to maintain two separate templates.

(But I would be interested in the implications of changing project units back and forth.)

It's not necessary to have two templates, but changing *project units* doesn't change everything you need. What about your wall, ceiling, floor, and roof types? A standard wall size I'm America isn't the same as walls elsewhere, because they use different thicknesses on materials that are built to metric standards. Doors are different sizes, because 36" is a meaningless amount in metric. Sheets are different.

So I still wouldn't use two templates, but you'll need a stage delineating what needs to change and how it's best to change it.
