    REVIT Steel Connections change beam geometry

    Hi, I'm new to the forum, i've been working around the new steel connections add-on, and evrything has worked fine until now.
    I've come across an annoying problem, when I apply a steel connection to some beams, these seem to get shorter on their y-axis.

    On this example, i've used an M_S Shape S220x98 connected with the structural column by a clip angle. It worked fine, but when I open my section view, it seems to have an offset over and under it. How come the geometry of the family is being changed by the connection?
    When I click on the blue "structural framing component end" tag, the beam changes to its original geometry for a few seconds, and then changes again.

    I've tried modifying all parameters in the connection, but it seems strange that those affect the actual geometry of the beam family.

      your dimension witness line doesn't seem to be to the bottom of the beam but rather to the top of the window frame?? Then, are the two views in the same plane? Doesn't seem so.
      I'm retired, if you don't like it, go around!

        The dimension witness line is to the bottom and top of the beam, but when the steel connection is put, the beam "shrinks" to that shape. Both are the same section view, the difference is I clicked on the blue control point and did a screenshot before it deformed again.

          I'm not there so can't answer your question about why the steel section is shrinking. But, again, looking at your dimension witness lines, if they are really to the steel section why are they different lengths??
          I'm retired, if you don't like it, go around!

            Thank you Dave Jones for your help, the witness line might not be attached to the beam, but this is only an annotation, which I don't think affects in any way to the issue i'm adressing.

            Has someone been using steel connections and come across a similar problem?

              I tried to replicate this issue but my beams stayed the same size

                Please make a section in elevation view that shows the beam and post the pictures. It might clarify the issue.
