    Missing rebar importing IFC

I imported a plain ifc rebar file and all hooks seem to be missing.
What settings are there to adjust it to make it better, (first time right)?

Structural Rebar, and Structural Fabric Areas, are the Default Choices. Do they not work? Did something go wrong with those settings? Why would you import IFC Rebar as Generic Models?

Rebar (hooks) fail to import correctly, both ways.
What about later releases than Revit 2014 that i'm using. Do you know?
        O.. Its civil Aaron ;-)

Well, I don't have 2017 so i tried 2016. It is giving me some very disappointing results but i don't really know the last effort in improving ifc for the latest release. Do you know?

I tried using the defaults for as well as 'Generic models' to be applied on

            ifcreinforcementbar
            ifcreinforcementbartype
            ifcreinforcementmesh
            ifcreinforcementmeshtype

            - message OPENING the ifc is strange. Machine thinking it is reading a Revit fie (funny) Probably converting template for whatever reason
            - very poor results

needs some further investigation and developments, is what i think..

Well... I didnt have time to mess with different settings to try getting it to come in as REBAR, but your IFC comes in to 2017 a hell of a lot nicer looking than yours did...EDIT: The forum is being weird, and now the Manage Attachments button doesnt work for me. But the hooks all came in fine, in 2017.

There is a good result in Revit 2017 if you link the file, importing seemed problematic to me.I develop a 3rd party importer, and https://twitter.com/geometrygym/stat...54398097653760 is an image and the resulting file in 2016 (using Direct Shapes).I can provide the model later (Attachments isn't working for me on the forum here either).I still support Revit 2014, but it's unfortunate as it was only 2015 that direct shapes were added.I could look at how much effort it might be to create native rebar (including 2014), it would be nicer if All plan generated polycurve (with arg segments) for the axis curve rather than polyline. If this is of interest, let me know.Cheers,Jon

As converted link it is indeed good translated (2016). The lesson in logic is NOT to OPEN a ifc ever, it must be the reason why it was hidden in the first place. From 2016 use the link option to convert a 'linked ifc' to a rvt link Thanks all.
