Wall based light fixtures are "embedding" themselves

Can anyone speak to why my wall based light fixtures are embedding themselves partially in the wall? I've tried adjusting where the core boundary of the wall is and whether or not the furring is a substrate or core material to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated as always.

It sounds like the light fixture isn't constrained properly to the exterior of the wall. Have you tried flexing the wall thickness in the family? Get it working in the family, and then see if it will work in the project.

Open the family, pick on the wall, edit the walls thickness, you will see the fail. Like the previous poster the most likely answer is the geometery is not constrained to a ref. plane that is locked to face of the wall, so it is staying put but your thicker wall is "eating it"
