    Invisible duct risers

    Hi everyone,
I'm having an issue in Revit 2012 where all ducts drawn that run perpendicular to the plane I am viewing are invisible, i.e. duct risers in plan, and straight runs when you look in section. If you look at a duct run in a section cut at an oblique angle, the duct shows up. Only ducts that should show up as a box with an 'X' in it are hidden (fittings show up). I can see the riser when I go to section, and if I select it, it shows up in plan simply as the "drag/draw duct" cross hair, as if it's a 1-dimensional duct so I know it's there. I tried switching detail levels, I checked my visibility settings, MEP settings>Mechanical Settings, and view range and everything seems normal. The riser goes up the entire length of the building too.

Has anyone had this issue? Ideas?

    Thanks

    Andrew

Usually graphic issues like that *unexplained* are video card related.
Look in options-->Graphics, and if the Use Hardware Acceleration (Direct 3D) is checked than I almost guarantee that's the problem.
    Also...
Select the duct and go to the Duct systems tab-->edit type-->Look and see if there is a rise/drop symbol assigned.

Thanks for the reply, I unchecked 'graphics acceleration' but to no avail. There was also a warning saying the drivers are not the most current, so I will try updating those today and see if that helps. Oh and there are rise/drop symbols assigned to the duct.

        No dice

Tried updating the driver to the "certified" revit driver and that did not work either. Any other ideas?

        Thanks
