    structural template

    hi

i am trying to make a structural template that i will see the layout like i used to see them on cad.

the main problem is with columns.
I need three types of columns,
    1. Ending – only the contour
    2. Keeping – contour with hetch
    3. Growing – dashed with hetch
What do you do about that and how are your plans look like?
    thanks

Nope I think main problem is you are trying to compare Revit to CAD.
Leave that blackscreen app in the dust and develop new age ways to display your columns.

Trying to make revit look and work like CAD is one of the common themes I see new adopters of revit try to make.

mfleming is right, you are better off to abandon this thought process.

That said, if we are just talking about hatch patterns of your columns you have two options
      model and object style hatching.

if you want your hatch to adjust automatically, it needs to be model otherwise you just get your 2D representation which will not adjust to scale changes.
