What information is contained (and being updated) in these schedules that could/is not otherwise captured by the model?

Do you have shared parameters (in your model, assigned to your room/area elements) that correspond to the fields within your (xcell=Excel?) schedule(s)?

If you've Dynamo skills, you should be able to readily tie them - but there are a host of other Excel push/pull apps. available that could aid doing the same.

I guess my main question relates to one word in your main query: "into" - which suggests you want to put the actual schedule into Revit (?!) and for which Hans already has that 'solution' for you - but I'd wade in at that point (if that's what you mean by "into") and contest why - presuming the schedule lives on its own as a seperate document/deliverable (unless it's purely an internal-use 'cheat-sheet' QA device?).

"Link-to", or better still, "Link-with" would have implied a data-based connection - that's ideally mainatained in a bi-directional workflow - where Dynamo again, or something like Flux, can really start to show off their qualities.
