Summary: In this role, you will work with the Dallas-based fuels engineering team on a combination of computer-aided modeling (in 2D and 3D AutoCAD-based environments), maintenance and development of the network CAD system, document production, design work, and technical research and documentation. Currently, the Dallas office is responsible for the design and construction of military fueling systems across the world. These include industrial piping, pump, valve, tank, and filtration systems with large design footprints, and can include complex piping manifolds and piping support systems. The Dallas office is currently in need of an experienced piping designer (with potential BIM experience) who can help manage our current CAD efforts and also help build our new 3D design group, with a focus on manipulating point clouds using AutoCAD combined with PointSense.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Work with CAD software including both 2D and 3D AutoCAD-based environments, PointSense, and point clouds to model fuel piping systems.
• Piping, valve, pump, tank, and filtration sizing and layout.
• Piping system analysis including volumetric piping capacity analysis and tank capacity analysis.
• Participate in quality control activities.
• Work with client and code officials as required.
• Attend client meetings both in person and by telephone.

Job Requirements:

• Completion of a mechanical design related two year technical degree
• Experience designing large-scale piping systems in both 2D and 3D AutoCAD environments
• 6+ years' experience in mechanical/piping design.
• Experience with both Microsoft Office and Adobe applications
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to pass a check for potential travel to military installations.
• Experience with point clouds and PointSense is preferred, but not required.
• BIM (building-informational modeling) experience is preferred, but not required.
• AutoCAD certification preferred.
